What does the BBB Institute for Marketplace Trust do?

The Better Business Bureau Institute for Marketplace Trust (BBB Institute) is the 501(c)(3) educational foundation of the International Association of Better Business Bureaus (IABBB). BBB Institute works with local BBBs across the U.S. and Canada to deliver programs, tools and resources that foster a trustworthy marketplace by:

  • Empowering consumers to spot, avoid, and report scams and unethical marketplace behavior.
  • Providing small businesses with information and strategies to help them thrive and stay safe in their communities.
  • Publishing research that provides critical insights for the public, and informs how we develop and deliver our programs.

How We Do It

  1. Use crowd-sourced data to determine marketplace challenges.
  2. Create tools and resources needed to empower consumers and businesses.
  3. Deliver resources online and via in-person trainings in communities across the U.S. and Canada
